The University of Chicago has received approval from the Mexican Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (the “SHCP”) to receive tax deductible donations from Mexican citizens. This ruling allows the University issue receipts to Mexican citizens for donations pursuant to the provisions of the Convention between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the United Mexican States for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income (the “Convention”).
