Arts, science, and technology

Two initiatives in particular are specifically aimed at cutting across the arts and the sciences. They connect artists and scientists, support transdisciplinary projects and research, and provide tools and support for those working in the interstices of art, science, and technology.

  • The Art, Science & Culture Initiative cultivates collaboration, active exchange, and sustained dialogue  within the University and beyond. The Initiative provides opportunities for scholars, students, and arts practitioners, in multiple domains, to pursue original investigations and explore new modes of artistic production and scientific inquiry  through graduate student grants and trans-disciplinary programs.
  • Hack Arts Lab is a laboratory for creative digital fabrication and visualization—a makerspace-styled workshop, equipped with 3D printers and other emerging technology, designed to support a breadth of activity ranging from undergraduate projects to faculty-led exploration.
