Student outreach events
As part of its mission, the Becker Friedman Institute introduces undergraduates, MBA students, and others to advanced economic thinking. These efforts include
- student-organized programs in which prominent economists address contemporary issues (such as the causes of, and response to, the 2008 financial crisis);
- the Becker Brown Bag Series, which features high-profile faculty, including many who have served at high-level government positions, discussing the practical use of economics for answering real-world questions; and
- the Friedman Forum, which extends the Becker Brown Bag model to provide similar talks for undergraduates.
Your support of these programs will show students how data and economic analysis can be powerfully applied not just in business but also to questions in public policy, education, and beyond.
