Student Education Program support
Support for Court’s educational programs, helping nearly 4,000 students annually learn through, in, and about the arts.
Court Theatre and its patrons offer a robust set of opportunities to Chicago and area high school students through the Student Education Program:
- The high-impact Artists-in-the-Schools, a series of intensive in-class residences conducted at five South Side partner schools annually by Court teaching artists.
- Students from those schools and others also have the full experience of attending professional classic theater through Student Matinees, weekday morning performances of Court’s main stage shows featuring deeply discounted or fully subsidized tickets.
- These year-round activities culminate in the annual High School Performance Festival, a daylong celebration of classic theater that includes students from partner high schools performing for one another and the community on Court Theatre’s stage.
- The Student Internship Program provides paid mentorships for undergraduate students, with hands-on experience in all aspects of arts administration and production.
Court’s philanthropic partners can profoundly increase the scale and impact of these programs with new levels of financial support.
