Financial aid for international students in the College
Worldwide demand for a UChicago undergraduate education has never been higher. Over the next decade, the College aims to increase international student enrollment significantly. Yet without financial aid, this life-changing educational experience will be out of reach for many highly qualified international students.
To remove barriers that prevent exceptional students from choosing UChicago, the College will expand its aid budget for international students. Philanthropy can make a dramatic difference by creating named and endowed scholarships for low and middle-income students or by extending need-blind admissions to specific countries or regions.
Diversity has long been central to the University’s mission and helps to foster its distinctive intellectual environment. Investment in international student aid is the next step in making the University an institution where students’ academic merit, passion, and work ethic truly are the only requirements for admission.
