Augment training and residency programs for students from the University of Chicago and other institutions around the world
The affiliation between the Marine Biological Laboratory and the University of Chicago has already created several new opportunities for students. In summer 2014, eight College students carried out research projects as Metcalf interns at MBL, and the six inaugural recipients of University of Chicago Graduate Student Research Awards enrolled in a course or did research with an MBL mentor.
Your support will help create more experiences for more students, from both UChicago and other institutions. These can include new undergraduate quarters or semesters “abroad” in Woods Hole throughout the year, scholarships for students participating in MBL educational programs, and expanded support for graduate student research at MBL.
